About the Enneagram

The Enneagram is a map of nine interconnected personality patterns. Each type describes a habitual way of paying attention—what you seek, what you avoid, and how you protect what matters. It is used for self-understanding and growth, not as a fixed box.

Gut triad (8, 9, 1)

Centered on instinct, anger, and autonomy—how you assert yourself in the world.

Heart triad (2, 3, 4)

Centered on feeling, image, and identity—how you seek connection and significance.

Head triad (5, 6, 7)

Centered on thinking, fear, and security—how you anticipate and orient to uncertainty.

Wings & arrows

Your wing is an adjacent type that flavors your core pattern (for example, 4w3 or 4w5). The diagram’s inner lines describe directions of stress and growth—familiar shifts in behavior when life tightens or expands.
